Oil Pump
I have a 1997 Super Glide. Just replaced the oil pump and I can't get it to prime. I have been told to pack the pump with vaseline and I am told repeatedly to make sure the oil lines are in the right place. The lines can only go one way, the vaseline didn't work. Any ideas?

Pack the pump with Vaseline, haven`t heard that since the `60s.
Take the screw out of the pump where the check ball is, lift out the screen and check ball, the oil can now run down from the tank into the pump.
You can also pour some oil into the pump.

Oil sump is full. It is not a raised tank it is a sump next to the tranny.
