I did a search last nite, but didn't find what I was looking for. I've got the HD quick detach W/S on my FXDL. The buffeting from the w/s is horrible at best. From another post, I dropped the W/S 2" below the lower triple tree. Buffeting was all but gone. So I'm thinking if I can raise the shield back up to where it should be and add the lowers, it might solve my problem. Well, now we introduce another. I called Memphis Shades this morning. They said they don't make a mounting clamp for the 49mm tube. WTF!! So, has anyone mounted just the lowers? What did you use? I have a hard time believing that the 49mm tube has been out for over a year and they haven't developed a clamp yet. I'm just wonder if she was clueless. Thanks in advance.
Just go buy the HD QR clamps. I was told you could order just those. You may have to do a little tinkering but I think you could do it. If I find the time I am actually going to try to make something to mount right on the HD windshield hardware to mount lowers.
I look over the top (5'8") with the standard quick detach and a sundowner seat. Without the sundowner, the top is in line of site.
I should also mention that I added a tool bag to the forks and the tank lift to get rid of the buffeting. Each of these helped but the lowers were the ticket.
The mounting hardware for 06-07 dyna's is 2320-0010. Looks like **** if you ask me. I am going to continue to explore the idea of makeing an extension from the WS hardware to mount the lowers to. That way when I remove the WS they come along with it.
Actually, looking at the MS site, the P/N gamma listed for the lower is correct, and the hardware "looks" like some of the other hardware P/N's, although not listed. I "think" the # you have is the one that mounts to the MS w/s itself. Not for sure, but that's what it looks like.
I agree, most of the solutions look like *****, but I need to do something. 2 weeks left! Thanks all!
