Default Headlight relocation. Higher up

I’m going to install some different bars on my 16 FXDB, lower w/ a little pull back. I think the bike would look a lot better if the headlight was moved up a bit ( kinda like on a springer, it sits up high). Anyway anyone done theirs. Getting ready to do a winter make over after I get all my stuff together ( bars, grips, new riser bushings, maybe some flames on the tank, foward controls moved back 1-1/4” already made the parts, new brake pedal, front tire, ) plus some maint stuff. Bike should look a lot different ( and operate better I hope). Thanks for any pics or replies

Is your headlamp mounted on a block? Can you get someone to machine a new part #20?

This is what I was thinking too. Should be pretty easy to fab up a mounting block.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, a longer/ higher block would work, but I want go up higher. Wondering if this might turn into a tuning fork( vibration ?) anyway the wiring is not long enough so I’ll have to add wire. Anyone know if these wires are the twisted can bus type ? I can’t see where they go into the frame but won’t budge, or come out any further. Thanks for your responses.

Wiring to the headlamp is not CAN bus it is power. The wires are in a grommet sleeve that is sometimes stuck to the wires during assembly to make it water tight.

It can only be too short outside of the bucket I imagine that could easily be extended from under the petrol tank. There could be like my bike a cable tie around a bundle of wires by the steering neck.

Thanks Andy. When I pull the tank I’ll check out the wiring. It runs into the frame and I bet you’re right about it being tied to other wires in there under the tank. Since I’m going to replace my bars I’ll have everything apart anyway. Wish I didn’t have to disassemble the terminal plugs to pull wire through the bars. ( PITA), but such is life. I’m old ,but think I’ll enjoy giving my Street Bob a facelift.
