Default Fuel vent line

Got back from a ride and noticed the small elbow that connects my fuel vent lines looks to have deteriorated and cracked. Anyone know if I can get away with replacing just this piece, or do I have to replace the entire line? Don’t mind either route, would just like a bit of guidance as to where I could pick these up, seem to be unavailable through Harley.

2005 Super Glide EFI by the way

Thanks in advance

I would just use a short piece of fuel hose that size to replace the elbow. Also check under your dash and see if the rest of the line is in ok shape. They deteriorate at the metal fitting on the tank.

The Harley replacement part for that elbow is #12 in the parts pic below. It is no longer available. It included an elbow and rear section of fuel vent line, from the fuel vent valve on your down tube back to the rear of the bike...

I forget the size of that hose...

Is it 1/4" or 3/8"...

You can google to find a rubber hose with a 90 degree bend.

Or... get a piece of fuel line and put a gentle bend into it (make sure it doesn't collapse and close off the line), to connect the fuel valve to the rear hose piece.

Here is a 90 degree 1/4" rubber elbow (vacuum line)

To add... something is in the wrong place, either the down pipe along the frame leg is too low or the horizontal pipe over the rocker box is too high. They should be sitting at a perfect 90 for proper drainage. You can see on the old elbow where it has been stressed over the years which contributed to the crack.

You can buy molded fuel line pieces and simply cut what you need. Here's an example, just need to order the right size.

If you use plastic elbow, use from automotive parts store. Not plastic elbow from aquarium stuff. It’s not rated for gas and will deteriorate quickly. BTW you can find brass elbows at some auto stores, check around, go to the stores and look for yourself as the counter people can’t usually find **** unless they can look it up by - year,make,model- lol.

Appreciate you all for the responses. Got this done and wrapped up this morning. I used the exact part hattitude mentioned above from Napa. Cut it to size and it worked perfect.

Like Chopper_man mentioned, it looked odd because the tube came off from under the dash, that’s why it was hanging lower. Attached it back again and all sits just right.

Thanks again for all the responses, this new (to me) dyna is good to go again!
