How does it start after the discharge?
Put a meter on the battery while it's running and see what it does.
At 2k rpm and above it should read 14+ volts.
Watch what it does while at idle, should not go down.
If it does, could be the voltage regulator is gone.
Also, have the battery load tested.

Do the checks above, but, it sounds like when the bike gets warm something starts drawing a ton of current. Could be the regulator/rectifier failing from heat, or something similar. You might try to see if the regulator is suddenly getting hot. Measure the voltage and see if it suddenly drops off.

All good advice above. Start simple.

Tighten the battery cable clamps.

I would suspect the voltage regulator, the heat from the engine is making it expand and not make contact.
You can follow the 2 stickies in electrical to test the stator and regulator.

Past issues with charging ended up being the stator.

I am betting you are charging a little bit but not enough. That means your stator and voltage regulator are on their way out.

Lots of advice, some unanswered questions and we still don't have any clue as to the color of this fictitious bike!

And to boot, there's probably no stage II cam in it
