Correct, HD doesn't make a replacement for the dipsitick with a temp guage built in. Only way I can see to get a oil temp guage on a Dyna would be to get one of the fairing oil guages used on EGs, and get a tachometer like can and mount, and mount on the handlebars.Maybe mounted with a tach next to it, it may not look too bad. On the other hand, if you're running ok, and the AFR isn't extremely lean and you're not noticing excessive heat, not sure I would worry about adding a temp guage (although if HD did ever make a dipstick guage, I would buy one. Have one on my UC and it is great.)
Iknow that they make one for the 06 wide glide. It is electronic and costs around 100.00 and I think you need to push a button to read it. . I just cant see paying that much for a guage that I will have trouble seeing while riding.
I had a HD one (with the button on it) for my 98 Dyna. Sold my Dyna since. It worked real well. HD is making one for the newer bikes with the screw on caps but they suck I've read. I read one thread where the guy brought back 2 of them because they broke. So, I'll go without one.
