Recently purchased a TC88 Dyna Wide Glide and been going over it. Found this interesting box today and I have no idea what it is. I was thinking security system or resistance/balancer for the LED lights the previous owner added, but there are no labels, no stamps, nothing that I can use to identify it.
It looks to me like the Badlands Run/Turn/Brake module. They usually plug into the wire harness between the connector from the main harness to the rear lights harness. I have never used/installed that particular model, so can't say for sure where it plugs into.
It will allow for your rear turn signals to function as running lights, turn signals, and brake lights, rather than just turn signals as from the factory. I believe it also has a built-in resistor to stop the hyper-flash when using LED lights on a pre-canbus bike.
If you are using your rear turn signals as run/turn/brake lights (with or without LED bulbs) leave it in, unless it's acting up. If you want your rear turn signals to be turn signals only, remove it and all should work as from the factory...
