Try measuring the voltage right at the connector of the fuel pump with the pump connected as a load.

It was just under 200 ccp. Like 190 when built. I did a compression check last spring and it was about the same. I will do it again on Monday.

Do you have a jump pack by chance?

I've had batteries read correctly when you test them, but something was failing in them. When I hooked a jumper pack to it it started up immediately instead of the long slow start.

The battery said it had enough juice, but something wasn't working right. Swapped out the battery and all was good, but the jumper pack will help rule it out without buying a new one.

When you redo the compression test I want you to do it with the motor cold this way the lifters will be bled down.. I just want to eliminate one thing here.. also did you pull your manual releases and make sure they're clear.? Carbon will build up in them and they won't work as efficiently...

I don't have a jump pack. But when I did the pump I went out and bought a new battery as well. Same results. Incidentally I also have an added ground to make starting easier that has been in place since the motor was built.

Bummer.

Change anything with the handle bars by chance? If a wire got damaged maybe the switch isn't relaying as much power?

Update: compression is even and appropriate on both cylinders.

fuel pressure is the issue still. Key on it primes and drops to zero. Will start and hold 52psi. I have a leaking something in the tank.
