Default T-bars with internal wiring

I've been looking at some drag bars for my bike. The shop has some 6 inch"T-bars" that I think are what I want. I'm not sure what the 6 inch refers to specifically unless it's just the distance between the bottom connection points to the cross-bar itself. They don't "rise" a full 6 inches as they are angled back about half way up. When I first asked about them, the guy told me they could install them with internal wiring at a total cost of about $350. When I was back in there the other day without my bike, I asked about them again and he mentioned they should be an easy install "if the cables are long enough". I assume that, if they are not, I will need to buy new cables or cable extensions of some sort and that will make the install take longer and cost more for the extra parts and labor.

Anyone have enough experience with the wiring to know if the existing wires and cables should fit bars like that vs. having to modify or replace them? I'd just stop by the shop with the bike and ask them but they are over an hour away and not really on my way to anywhere normally.

Another thing I'm curious about is if these bars will even fit my bike. The reason for my curiousity is that there are some similar style bars in the HD catalog (7"street slammers)that are made to fit some dyna's (street bob and fat bob) but my specific model is not mentioned and neither is the standard super glide. Maybe that has to do with longer cables on those bikes vs. the other dyna's or maybe it's something else - I don't know. Just makes me wonder if there is a difference between dyna's with the HD bars, couldn't there be with these T-bars as well?

The t-bars should fit your bike, I don't know what H-D is referring to, as long as the t-bars are for standard riser width as opposed to softail springer width. I put 9" rise t-bars with about 4-6" pullback on my '02 Dyna a few years ago. Cables & wiring was plenty long, though I did have to gently bend the brake line a bit. T-bars are a little harder to run wiring thru because of the bends. I used a thread that I sucked thru the bars with a vacuum cleaner & then pulled a thicker piece of twine thru so I could pull my wiring. It's not that difficult & I tend to do my own stuff, but it's a matter of time & effort vs. $$ so it all depends on what is worth more to you. You should be able to get similar bars for under $180 if you shop around.

The bars I want are only $140. The $350 is supposed to be the installed price but I'm sure it will be more if I need more wires.

You should have plenty of extra wire. I just put 16" apes on my bike & didn't need to extend the wiring.
