V&H straight shot slip onswith quiet baffles on my 07 FXD. Love the sound and it runs great, 91 ft lb torque with SE AC and SERT dyno tune. It feels good and sounds good. SEII slip ons were too quiet, couldn'thear the motor on the highway.V&H competition baffles were a bit too loud for me.
If yer lookin for performance and pipes that tune real easy go with D&D Fat Cat 2in1, I had my builder to suggest them and I got them with the quiet baffle so they would sound different and cut the sound at idle. Had them on for a year .
I bought a set of Cycle Shacks to hold me over until I can afford the Rhineharts, fuel management system, and intake upgrades I really want. They were cheap ($100 shipped from a HDForum member). They look great. And they sound excellent for the price.
Some of the forum members here gave me a few tips on installation (which is surprisingly easy). There was no need to change the intake, or otherwise modify the fuel/air mixture after installation of the Cycle Shacks. There is a little bit of decel-popping once in awhile, but it's muffled, and I really don't mind that gurgling sound I sometimes hear.
Cycle Shacks are a great way to go if you wantthe sound, but don't want to pay a lot of money for whatever reason. Oh, and they're much lighter than the stock balloons you have on your bike now, not to mention better looking in my opinion as their diameter is smaller.
Would keep a check on yer plugs. Don't understand why you would pay 18,000 for a motorcycle and go buy a cheap set of pipes. I understand the new bikes has resenators in the mufflers but why not take the monty and apply it to a good set of pipes that tune easy . Talk to the people that dyno tune a bike they will tell you about pipes. Just my 2 cents

Plugs are fine.Let meassure you that the price of a set of mufflers has absolutely no bearing on whether or not a bike will sustain damage.
Therefore, I must conclude your "cheap" comment refers to the quality of said parts...
So............ unless you have specific knowledgeproving thereare inferiorattributes associated with parts made by Cycle Shack (which... lets face it,are nothing but chrome coated tubes with baffles), then you're statements are based solely on... well... nothing?

I think "inexpensive" is probably a better word for the
Cycle Shacks. They made the original "Screamin Eagle"
mufflers so the quality is asgood as those.

Cycle Shacks tune up fairly easy with fairly good numbers Lot's a bang for the buck... Wide Glide Bry... leave them on and take your time listening to everything before you buy.. Make your own decission on your pipes everyone ears are diffrent and find what you like.. A good tuner can tune any pipe you decide to use,, some are easy'er than othersso theypush them because they have some basic maps for those pipes and it takes less time for them wich = mo money for them... It's yer bike put on what you like.. and take you time Good luck make it your's
