well...not exactly relocation
more like getting rid of those fugly wings sticking out from the frame struts and mounting the turn signals up-close.
removed the flimsy chromed tin covers from the struts and shocks. amazing how cheap quality they feel once you hold them.
take off the blinkers, remove the stock long mountingbolt that goes through the extension arm and replace with a shorterbolt. i think it's a UNC 5/16"x1.5", but don't take my word for it, measure yourself.
the nice thing is that the groove on the back of the signal housing (that groove that theextension arm fits into) will fit snuggly right around the frame strut, making the new position really snug against the fender.
oh, yeah, please pretend you don't see that hideous license plate.
this is what you get when living in a third-world country.
I really like the look of those exposed frame struts could we get a better picture ? Maybe a straight on side shot? Thanks.
sure thing
this pic is during the install, experimenting different locations
the struts look really nice exposed, much better then the sportster ones
and the blinker has a groove at the backside (where the extension arm fits into)
that matches the rounded end of the strut perfectlly
Nice, I was thinking of painting mine black but I may just take them off and leave them off. It may not look as good as yours though I have easy brackets where you have your signals mounted. Also that big license plate might look better if you mounted it below the tail light if you could do it without it dragging the ground.
