Default Question on adding forward controls

I am thinking about putting the forward controls on my 2006 FXD Super Glide. I've got the V & H Big Radius pipes and just wondering if I'll have to take off any part of the exhaust to get the forward controls installed.

I would have to see a picture of your scoot to tell, but if you want a more direct appraoch, contact Kuryakyn. They sell the best set of forwards for the Dynas. IMHO HD's set looks cheap, and should not cost the 325 they ask for it. Kuryakyn makes a nice looking, solid, set for 399, but can be found on ebay for 299 new in box. If you go to www.kuryakyn.com and look up their contact info, they answer all calls, and are extremely helpful with questions like yours.

I debated going to forwards for quite awhile before I went and did it. Jury is still out on which set-up is better, but I think I am going to come to the conclusion that if you keep mids and use highway pegs for long rides to stretch, or get forwards and keep your mid pegs for a different leg position...it's pretty much all the same.

Good luck

Gopher, you shouldn't have to remove the exhaust to install the forwards. On that side of the bike, you simply replace the stock brake rod with a longer one by screwing it out and screwing the other one in. Whether or not your exhaust is in the way of removing your mid controls on the right side, I'm not sure.
