Default My new project!!

I've decided to fully customize my 07 Bob, here is what I'm thinking to do:

1- FXDC tank
2- Carlini Designer Series handlebar or the handlebar in the picture (I dont know what brand is that!)
3- A customrear & front fenders similar to the ones in the pic.
4- A special color from Porsche called Macadamia metallic, its a dark Brownish Bronze. (pics attached)
5- V&H Short shots Black, Fuelpack & SE A/C.
6- C&C or LePera solo seat
7- 170 or 180 rear tire.

What else guys? ur ideas will help. I will try to keep it all below $3 grands.

great ideas you are thinking of doing, but one question. why change the tank? for the console?ok now the fenders you are looking at, i have the seen them before, i think i might have the link somewere still, i will have to look when i get home from work. ifi do recall they were not that expensive. all that you are looking to do,can be done easily under $3,000, IF and onlyIF you do the work yourself, the paint job will be the most expensive, but you are using a solid color, so it wont be that much. the more i look at what your doing, the price i see, to do this project would be about $2,500

$200.00 tank (used) dont buy new or sell your tank and use money for the new used tank.
$300.00 fenders (front $125.00 and rear $175.00) and i dont think even that much.
$500.00 exhaust (could be cheaper) just a good guess
$250.00 efi fuel pak, pc III or what everfor exhaust, can find for around $150.00 also (try ebay)
$100.00 stage 1 air cleaner (can find cheaper, thats is dealers prices, try ebay)
$500.00 -$600.00for new bars, cables, and (housing and master cyclinder if your changing to chrome) if not the price willbe cheaper.
$800.00 paint job
total = $2,650 (that is not counting the beer cost)
everythingis high estimates, just pulling them from the top of my head if you went to the dealer. but you can find half of everything on your list alot cheaper if you look around, i dont buy anything at all from the dealers, they can go to hell with thier prices. i would start checking ebay, i have built my whole bike on ebay, saved me literly thousands and thousands of dollars. so far my price list to the mods i have done to my bike how i wanted it, comes to $2,161.59, if i would of went and bought everything that i have bought from the dealer and not off ebay or were ever,it would be $6,854.00. everything i have bought also are oem harley (mostly new), not aftermarket. so you decide. please post pics when your done, would love to see that paint color on your bike. if i get my english wheel this winter, i make the fenders for you.jackyl

That bike is put together with some German aftermarket parts that may not even be manufactured anymore. They don't suit my taste but I actually considered trying to contact the manufacturer about importing those rear fendersbecause I thought they would sell really well . . . . . except . . . when I found an old price from a cached website, with currency conversion, the rear fender was something crazy like $800 to $1,000. I didn't even bother contacting them since there would be very hard to sell anywhere near that price. I don't have any of the info anymore unfortunately, but the original vendor no longer had them on their site last time I checked.

I don't know if that info helps or confuses, but I hope it helps.

jackyl; thanx for the info, it'll be great help if u find who makes the fenders or similar style. The FXDChas the biggest tankbetween allDynas. I already have the SE A/C & Fuelpack installed on my ride with V&H slip ons, so I'll just reuse them with the new pipes.

Here is the German, or maybe Swiss website I was referring to: http://www.hotsbott.com/

Andbelow is the fender that they used to have on their site. I *think* this is the fender you wanted. The front fender they used to havealso looks like the one from your picture, and that exhaust was available from this or some other Euro company. Curious if Jackyl has found a US supplier. These were available WAY back when the Street Bob was first produced so I sort of doubt it was made here and exported. The only reason I even ever saw these part was a German speaking Swiss fellow had my bike on his website (way before the springer) and we exchanged emails and I spent some time on his site and followed some links, etc.

I knew that, I would rather not buy from overseas either. I was just trying to point out the possible originator if that might help locate an importer. I am still not 100% that it's THE fender, but if not, it's a copy anyway. Like I said, that company put some 06 Dyna stuff out before anyone here had done squat. Good luck and keep us posted.
