Ok, ive done a search on this and still cant find the answer. I learned that you just move the turn signals out for the detachable plates for a sissy bar. Now, if i get the rigid plates does it work the same way? Also, i found the docking hardware for the detachable but not the rigid side plates. Is it the same hardware? Any info will be appreciated.

I've had both. To install the rigid plates, you just remove the bolts behind the fender for the fender struts, insert the sideplates between the struts and the fender and reattach the bolts. Nothing needs to be done with the turn signals.
For detachable, you have to buy the docking hardware kit and the signal relocation kit (unless you go a different route with the signals) in addition to the sideplates. The turn signals really don't get moved out all that much. But, the stalks that hold them out get replaced and the docking kit fits over the new stalks. You will have to cut the wires for the signals and splice them back as part of the install. The kits have complete instructions and everything you need except the tools. Not hard to do but a little more time consuming than the rigids.
Ok, i started this post along time ago, i realize that, but now i actually have the rigid plates in-hand, and the bolts loose on the fender strut. Now i just need a few hints on how to get that darn signal bolt out, the dang tire keeps getting in the way. Was gonna just let air out of tire, but wanted to check here before i did that. Any input wil be appreciated.
