Some friends of mine invited me to come live in South Lake Tahoe next year. I live in Florida, just bought a 2008 FXD and if I move its going with me. I know California has different emmission standards so my question is what type of modifications will I have to make to the bike to conform to emission standards? Also, SLT is about 6,000 feet, so will I need to adjust the EFI or any other systems?
Youshouldn't have a problem moving to Ca. The issues are when you live in Ca. and buy a vehicle from out of state.
You won't have to do any mods to your bike for it to run well. The FI does fine.
It won't run as well as it does at sea level, but nothing does. I live near Reno (4500') and regularly ride up to 9000'.
