Good topic. I was going to name mine after my late wife, Cynthia. But there is not much feminine about it. Too big, too heavy, too loud, too fast, yet so beautiful.....
I noticed that most of the suggestions were not feminine names. Interesting....
jakeiniraq, I need to thank you for your selfless dedication to the rest of us. I sleep better at night knowing thet you and men like you stand ready to do violence in my behalf (I'm borrowing another members signature statement). Perhaps it is fitting that you name it after what it symbolizes to you personally. What does it do for you? While I do not know your duty mission, I can believe it is not pleasant.with that in mind, I ditto "Freedom" but also offer "Sanity". Something along that line.
Bikes should always be named after women. They both suck you dry in more ways than one, and both leave you with the feeling of fine satisfaction after you've ridden either as hard as you can....
Okay enough dirty talk. First time I walked out of my house to jump on her after getting her home, the song "Black Betty" started playing in my head as I walked up to her...it stuck from there. Sometimes it's just that zen-like. Oh yeah, forgot to mention she is a vivid black street bob.
I have a question for Chipstah: Have you ever rode the bobstah to pick up some lobstahs??
All my bikes have boy names, usually generated due to some aspect of their look, feel, or sound after the first 1000 miles or so.
Got my first, astripped down '73 FLH, in 1982 when I was 19 years old ... named it 'Clunker' cuz it was clunky.
My '82 Lowrider was 'Thumper' cuz the straight pipes and S&S Super B thumped at idle.
My '85 WideGlide was 'Rod Dog' cuz we tore up the roads all over the Southeast, and later in Germany.
My new one is 'Copper Top' ... for obvious reasons.
I was think of that one stripper that just did it for me, and well take her stage name and there you have it. Think of it this way, They both can cost alot of money, are good to look at and well I will leave it here with and one sure is dam great to saddle up and go for a ride.
They just kind of name themselves. I was riding the Ultra home from the dealer and heard the song "Lola" on the radio and it stuck. My Springer, on the other hand, is kind of nasty and high-performance so she is Maggie Mae from the Beatles' song on Let It Be. (Oh, dirty Maggie Mae, they have taken her away.........) Kind of silly, but oh well. I have always named my bikes after women in songs.
