Oh Deer!
Today I was out riding around the hills here in SW Austin formy lunch break, casually cruising and taking a back road through a subdivision to miss construction.
Wouldn't you know it, I slowed down to take a (tight) right hand turn and right afterwards I had come up on two deer crossing the road. Luckily I wasn't going too fast coming out of the corner bc I would have hit the biggest one for sure.
I didn't wreck or anything but I came so close to hitting the deer that I could hear the deer's hooves on the cement, scrambling to get away from me.
A lot closer than I care for!

That would have sucked on that nice new bike.I hit a dear on my Yamaha in Pasedena, Tx. Going about sixty 3 came out in front of me. All I could do is close my eyes and shut it down. Good thing I only clipped it, he wasn't so lucky.

Been there done that . Last year a deer jumped the guide rail and nearly landed on me !! I was just exiting town and was rounding a broad sweeping curve. It was about 11:00 am and the road was still a bit dew covered. I squeezed the clutch and hit both brakes, I felt the back tire begin to kick out and I let the clutch and brakes out and goosed the throttle. Immediately the bike stood back up and the deer was gone ! It all happened with in 2 seconds but it was like slow motion. Scared the breakfast right out of me lol, I NEVER want that to happen again !

been there hearing the hooves on the pavement, this doecame jumping out from the woods and we had just slowed down to 50 mph, never heard my front brakes howl so loud in protest trying to stop then it was all over just as quick as it started.

Hopefully I can put an arrow through one over the weekend here in Austin.--- Austin AR. that is! Deer scare me more than cars.

I almost hit one Sat night...Sun morning about 2 am...doin about 40, saw him comin out the corner of my eye and I let off the throttle...by the time the deer got in front of me it was under a bike length from me. It freaked me a bit[:@]
