Looks like you done good, Ed. Pretty cool that you can achieve results like that, all without the MoCo.

Really nice job Ed - I've been thinking about the same thing for mine as a winter project. I was concerned about the gap between the fender and tire being more obvious with the bobbed fender but yours looks great - even better when you get the 11" shocks. BTW, what did you do with wiring to taillight - I assume you have the run/turn/stop module for the rear turn signals installed. Where did you get the sidemount license plate holder?

Cheers.

I love people who aren't afraid to experiment and do stuff themselves. The effort was well worth it in my opinion; outstanding.

[quote BTW, what did you do with wiring to taillight - I assume you have the run/turn/stop module for the rear turn signals installed.quote]

I did in fact have the turn signal tail light integrator thing installed when I bought the bike.It was attached to the tail light inside the housing .What I did was shorten the tail light wiring harness that runs under the fender by about two feet and splice it back together and plug it into the module. Then I had to lengthen the turn signal wires by about a foot, I used the wire I cut out of the tail light harness.I ran the turn signal wires behind the fender struts on the outside of the fender .Once I tightened the fender bolts it secured the wiring nice and snug.It looks neat and as an added bonus I have no wiring under the fender.

The side mount license holder is a bit of a long story. Before I started I purchased a used fender with all the hardware just in case I screwed up real bad.I had an idea in my head about how to make a simple side mount plate holder but no stock.I took one of my extra inside fender brackets which is basicly a one inch wide strip of sheet metal, cut it down to size and gave it a 90 degree twist, drilled a couple of holes in it and bolted it up to the mounting point for the turn signal. It has no plate light but it's mounted right below the tail/signal light so I can probably get away with running it like that.
