Don't know. Renegade Harley Davidson in Alexandria, La. changed the injectors from 8 to 25 degree and the service manager told the mechanic that a remap wasn't necessary as those were the injectors that it was supposed to have in it.
The early build '06 Dyna's had the 8 degree injectors. The MOCO factory changed over to putting the 25 degree SE injectors in after complaints about cold engine stumbling at starts from stop. Some dealers retrofitted the early build Dyna's with no problem. Some dealers had to be "convinced" to do the retrofit and some dealers refused. Some Dyna owners report no problems with the 8 degree injectors. Some Dyna owners found a dealer to change them out.
My '06 Dyna would stall at stop lights or signs when you blipped the throttle to take off. I went to three different dealers to get one to change the injectors. They said the remap wasn't necessary. It runs fine now. No stalling, stumbling or surging at low speeds. I get the same gas mileage, about 37 average town riding, with the 25 degree as with the 8 degree.
The back side of the Service Bulletin gives the steps the technician should take. If the injectors are changed to the 25", the bulletin says to update the ECM calibration.
The first 06's had 8 deg injectors that flow 3.5 or there abouts and then they switched after a few months to the 25 deg that flows 3.9 roughly. They did it due to some haveing cold start isuues etc. If no remap is done it will most likely richen the open loop cells. In the closed loop sections it would tune back to the 14.7:1 ratio.
And if anyone is interested the SE injector that flows 4. something fits in the OE intake and is about half the price. One would need a tuner such as a PCIII, SERT, TCFI IID,Tmax or the likes.
