Look who's talking? I don't run straights ... I run loud SEIIs, but I try to be mature about it and not rap them late at night, coming into church etc. That's just a "Look at me!" event and is stupid in many scenarios. There's a time and place. And when people don't realize that and act ig'nunt the result is stupid laws that affect all of us.

So, by using this logic, when you live ona bus route, (as I did years ago), you should try to outlaw buses because you can't hear the TV as they stop next to your house and then accelerate away.
Oh, and I also want to outlaw airplanes, as they tend to be loudas they fly overhead, (helicoptors included).
And babies and kids, man, I hate it when I'm in a restaurant and kids are screaming at the next table.
Or when the kids are outside playing having fun, they tend to be kinda noisy.
And dogs, the neighbors dogs, barking all the time, sometimes associate with a happy screaming kid.(should we outlaw the two togehter? Kids and dogs, bad mix....)
Sunday morning church bells, we need to make them stop too, my saturday night hangover is still around, and that bell noise doesn't help!
Fire engines, police car sirens, ambulances are too loud for me too. Oh, and people screaming when they get hurt, let's fine them, I find that annoying.
Nope. That's not the same thing, imho.

A guy, or a bunch of guys, intentionally winding out straight pipes in a neighborhood/subdivision late at night, or blipping throttles at a light on eatery row on Sunday morning, etc. is an intentional act. Running and gunning straight pipes when it's not necessary, and frankly not appropriate, is immature and it is quite natural for people to be pissed off by it. Buses, crying babies, etc., while sometimes annoying, is not intentional.

Big diff, imho.

"peppered with outdoor eateries" I've been to Florida and I'll bet you're not smoking in any of those eateries either. Sorry, that's a whole different fight

I was only trying to make a point, there are things out there that not everybody likes.
I thought I was being sarcastic enoughwith my variety of dislikes, (kids and dogs?, church bells?, farts?)

I'm just totally against bans of any kind to make a small minority happy, period.

OK ..So if it is Motorcycles this time because of noise, then trucks should be outlawed because of noise and pollution, the little carswith big exhaust, UPS and Fed EX Trucks ........what really needs to happen is that everyone that rides needs to let the businesses in the area know that we will not patronize their establishment if this law is in effect.

need to get some lawyers who ride, get together and generate a class action against the city.Federal and state taxes that theresidents of Florida and Del Ray paid when they purchased gas at the pump to maintain the highway. If bikes are banned then all vehicles should be banned and make it a pedestrian venue. my 2 cents. FormerFlorida resident of 35 years. The blue hairs and transplants are ruining it.

As long as people can ride up and down the streets with a radio booming its azz off and the lyrics in the song shouting Mother ****er This and Mother ****er that, they can all kiss my azz. I will keep my loud exhaust.

I always try to be very respectful of others. When I have done all that I can possibly do to keep peace and keep the exhaust note low key in areas such as this and they still bitch, I have done my part. After that..........I revert back to my first sentence.
