Okay I figured it out, you were using the wrong tag from photobucket.

That looks pretty good, but it's to big to be a sig pic. It has to be 500X250 or smaller.

I inserted the correct URL in your sig area for you. Very nice looking Sig Picture. By the way. You can use [img] or [IMG]. You just can't use [IMG] here on HDF. When you are copying the URL at Photobucket, use the 2nd choice under your picture. The one that says "Direct"

I see some of the posts have pictures of their bikes under the signature. How do you go about doing that?

As far as resizing -- you can do what you want to do (resizing) with one program already found on an XP system: PC Paint.
As with everything in computers, there are many ways to accomplish what you want to do. If you want another way, just ask me.

Perhaps the easiest (no need to download anything) would be to use PC Paint, something that has been built into Windows for many years now. You can also use PC Paint to find the size (in pixels) of the picture so you know if you have it sized correctly or not.

Go to START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES and run "Paint". (Alternatively, you can always right click on the picture you want to edit and select "edit" from the context menu).

This should load up Windows Paint. Load your picture ("open") if you haven'talready done so.

Go to the "Image" dropdown menuand select "Stretch and Skew".If this value is < 100%, it will have the effect of actually SHRINKING the picture.

Under the horizontal and vertical stretch sections, enter a number that would resize your picture to thesize you want. Thismay take a few tries. Just make sure the horiz and vert values are the same to keep the proper aspect ratio, etc. What you do is this:

First, for horizontal and vertical stretch values, try something smallsuch as40%. If the resulting picture istoo small, orstill too big, use the Edit dropdown menu and select "Undo" before you touch anything else. This will bring your picture back to the original size. Then, try the stretch method again toand this time pick a value that would make it smaller or bigger than the last time (<40 or >40), depending on your needs.

Once you have it like you want, save it as a new file name (do not overwrite your existing). Perhaps add theletters "sm" to the end ofthefile name or "sigpic" so that you still have the original sized picture as well.

If that doesn't help, or if you have more questions, feel free to PM me. I've been doing this kind of stuff (PC hacking, building, programming, etc.) for almost 20 years now, so I know I can find the way that's right for you.

Also, with Paint, you can add text if you want to the picture. Such as the year, model, and name of your scoot. Or, cut and paste another smaller image into it, etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. I believe someone else already has, but once you resize your picture, get a free account to snapfish or photobucket.

Upload your sig picture to that and then in your signature text, include the appropriate tags with the URL where your picture is located (photobucket, snapfish or wherever).
