It's funny to me to hear people call the handlebar mounted speedometer "butt ugly". The speedo mounted in that location is actually one of the things I preferred about my Dyna vs. the other models!
My buddy has an 04 Sporty with that speedo setup/risers. I love the look on his bike and was wondering if it would fit ok on my S/G. Guess I now have my answer.

Same here. I prefer the sportster custom setup as well but I don't think it would clear my 2" tank lift. Remember, the xl's have smaller tanks.
On a side note, I just walked through my front door soaked in rain holding a box with my new chrome clutch bracket and master cylinder... I found my english bulldog eating my helmet. She also destroyed my riding glasses and my gloves. My new chrome goodies just don't seem so exciting now.
To rememdy this problem i ordered chubby drag bars and this speedo bracket from dennis kirk. It looks alot better than it did stock and im happy with it nonetheless.
Well, I thought about me saying it was "buttugly"............and it STILL is. I will sell the speedo to the highest bidder* and buy a different speedo, classic looking or not.

Had the same problem with the speedo. Found the risor on ebay. It pulled back 4" with plenty of room for the speedo under the mount. Also added 2006 Deuce handlebars. The dealer has it listed under sportster custom.
