I put this brand new mustang seat on my 08 sg custom and according to mustang it is the right seat for my bike, I bought it from "west end motorsports" and if you look at any of there pics the seat mates with the tank, not 2 inches above it and all of the brackets are riveted in place so nothing can be moved, I hate the way this looks....................any ideas ......anybody?
Hard to tell from the small pic but is the tab on the seat clear underneath the mounting plate under the tank, did the rear bolt mount up right? Is it possible to bend the tab on the seat upwards to pull the front down more? Good luck and I am sure you will get better advice from all the great folks on this forum.
Maybe I got a bootleg "Mustang"........hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
It looks like you may have got a seat possibly meant for a WideGlide.
I suggest looking at the Mustang p/n on the seat and comparing to that for your bike off their website.

The tab on the front of the seat goes underneath the rear tank bolt. I think you have it over it.
Unscrew it, slide it back about an inch, push the front of it down hard, and shove it forward. Whack the back of the seat with the heel of your hand if you have to to get it to go on there.
Yeah I did that .........the use the same #'s .................sooo maybe 'cause it's an 08 that is the issue 'cept that mustang itself list the same seat fer all dynas including wg's
