Im looking for some suggestions on what I can do to my2002 fxdl to make it look not so stock i really suck at this sort of thing so im open to any suggestions it allready has a 95 kit and a carb upgrade so im just wondering about cosmetics heres a pic of it now.
Maybe try Jackylâs 2â tank lift. Only $40 and easy to install. Not only looks cool and brings the tank gages up to a better viewing angle. Also allows you to clean the chromeheads easier!
Your bike already looks good. You could remove all your reflectors and decals to clean things up, here's some low budget mods that adds a nice touch to any bike.
Tinted tail and signal lights, with painted reflectors
I have to agree with the axle covers. I just recently put some on mine and although it's such a small thing it really makes it look finished if you know what i mean. Those chrome switches look pretty damn good with the black housings, I bet it's a hell of a lot cheaper than getting the chromed housings too.
Your bike looks good the way it is. I agree you should get rid of the reflectors. Start off with a few small touches like the axle covers, etc. Maybe you're just getting that itch where you want to change things up - not because your bike doesn't look good. This could get expensive lol.
Best advice is take your time look at as many photos on this great site for ideas, then sitat the bike and visualize, dont do anything to quickly you could spend a ton of money, once you start.I am making lists right now for my 02 lowrider for winter projects, good luck.
THAT bike I like too. Here are a few things:
Lose the football (aircleaner)
The rims, I do like the look, but try to imagine this: Have the wheel sent off this winter, have the rims and hub black powdercoated and the spokes done in the same color red as on the bike now.
Maybe different bars??
I don't like the "shield" over the headlight, I think you'd need new triple clamps to get rid of it, but see if you can get rid of that and go with a bullet headlamp.
OH, looks like custom rear signals but stock fronts, so change the fronts to the same as the rear. I also dislike the big chrome battery cover, do something different there, not sure what, maybe think up something unique that would really personalize the bike. I have some ideas of my own I'd be willing to share offline.
