Dynabiker, if you want to install forwards I have some brackets that bring back the controls about 1.5 inches closer. The last owner of my bike probably had an inseam about the same as you. They are fabricated but look good when installed and you can have them for shipping/packing cost. Just send a PM if you are interested.
I also have the Kury forwards with the stirrup pegs and they are great!

I have the HD heel stirrupson mymid controls and they work great, makes for a much more comfortable ride. I don't have any close up pictures, but if you need to see it I can take one for you.

You can get or make forwards or highway pegsto fit you. HD makes some chrome adjustable highway peg mounts or you can buy or make fabricated ones. One of my best friends has about the same inseam as you and swears by his highway pegs on his lowrider. He is running the HD adjustable mounts.

Kuryakyn makes some pegs with swing down/out stirups. "Switchblade Footpegs" they call them.,IIRC. I have them on my Bob with forwards. They work good in my application, not sure how they'd workwith the mids, though.

Harley has the REACH seat which will push you forward, or you can add padding to your stock seat.
I'm 5'7" with a 29" inseam and love the forwards with heel rests.
