I meant to ask you how you were liking the Thunderheader I like mine allot but I have nothing to compare it to other than the bone stock exhaust system.I know they make good power, when I had my bike tuned on a Dyno it was making between 75 and 80 hp all day. They had to do quite a few runs because they couldn't get an accurate air fuel mixture reading below 3K.

Good lookin' Waterman. do you have a tank lift on your bike too?
yes, 3in
Could you get some close up pictures of the front and rear signals? Mine are currently laying on my workbench. Looking for another option to hide them.
here ya go
looks like they came from a distributor called "lockhart phillips". you have to be a dealer to get them (hence from my dealer buddy.

actually i like it a lot. there's two things i don't like 1) it gets pretty hot, it hasn't been on during the summer and i'm not really looking forward to it. 2)i've dragged it.......twice, the first the day i put it on...hence the band clamps....aarrrggg!. i've put it the forks back up in trees and i still scrapped it. i'm thinking about having someone make some kinda skidplate/heatshield that i can keep painting black.
like i said, i lost an hp or two but gained a torque or two. i was able to "acquire" the sert map from thunderheader and it seems to work pretty good.
RE: few new changes...thunderheader, side mount, hidden blinkers..etc
I love the small signals, I think it's great if you've got to have them-which unfortunately DOT says we do.
Everything I've found on those blinkers has a disclaimer saying not DOT approved. I hope you get around that at inspection time, Because personally, if we gotta have them This is the best I've seen to date.
I would just hate to do all that work and get popped.

ORIGINAL: Stanger
Dam, that is one nice ride! I want to warn you though about one thing. The Dreamweavers license plate holder you have, well I have had two of them, and well both broke at the weld where the plate that mounts the acutal license plate is connected to the verticle piece of metal that is attached to the rear of the bike, well there is a weld there, and I can show you in some pics I have that there was no penitration in the weld, on either one!! Even the second one that he said he personally welded. There are others on here with the exact same thing that happened to them! I am telling you because my first one came off while we were driving down the highway, that is a large piece of metal (especially with the light attached to it) to be bouncing along the highway! So please, take it off, go to a good welder (unless you are one) and have that thing re-welded!!
Good luck! Great looking bike!
what he said.... [sm=exactly.gif]

I've found that it tends to drag most on low speed sharp turns like going into parking lot if you're aware of that it'll help a bit.
If you look at mine you can see I made a skid plate for it out of a piece of the old stock heat shields I may have an even better pic somewhere http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...dplate1001.jpg
I have heard that Thunderheader makes heat shields but I have yet to see any on a bike or even on thier website has anybody else?
