whats up guys im 290 6;4 and wondering if the progressive hds 412 11 inchers would work for me...i defffently dont want to bottom out...any help would be cool
i like my stockers..i just like the stance the lower the better...... it kinda makes my bike look bigger, the stance is killer.... ps nice floor boards man
I had Progressive shock on my 07 Super Glide , I rode 2 up with total weigh 250lbs , got bottom out at least 5 times on 1500miles ride to Sturgis this summer .
6'3" 230lb, lost 10 lb since I bought 'em, 12" progressive 440's HD still love 'em, also replaced frontsprings w/ progressive springs and heavier fork oil, no more dive, stiff ride, but always in control, so much better. Peace.
I'm about 300lbs 6'2" and the stock shocks just didnt work...I could set the preload to compensate for my weight, but I might as well been riding a rigid....I invested in a 12" Progressive 440 IAS HD and the rides awesome...I can even two up if I want...to adjust the preload you just twist the top of the shock with your hand...no special tools required.
My only gripe is that I need to either add springs and heavier oil to the front forks or swap them out with a set of Storz inverted blackout forks....
11" will drop it real low. might want to consider 11.5 or 12 to compensate for your weight (compression)
412's are cheap its the 440's that'll break the bank. consider adding front lowering springs too.
not being a prune, but do a search - tons of info on this exact topic! good luck
