Pealing paint
Has anyone else notices the paint pealing off the fuel tank at the tabs where the mounting bolts are? I noticed today that the paint is flaking off the front mount. Think this would be covered under warranty?

Well the stealer basiclly said that HD does not cover paint defects under warranty. I qoute "Paint damage is only covered by Harley Dvidson at setup, prior to retail delivery, damage not warrantable condition." The friggin paint is just pealing right off like the metal was not prepped correctly. This is on more then one mounting tab for the tank. I do not think as this as damage but **** poor workmanship. I wonder what the tank will look like after a year, bare metal!!!

Here is a pic of one of the tabs pealing. You can just make out the bubble that is to the front that will peal soon also.

thats bs dude.....every warrenty comes with a paint warranty just like any car.......i work at a body shop and we warranty it for life...... i would look in to it and get a new tank cuz it starts at the edges and keeps going

Mention Lawyer/lawsuit to them..................... Your talking close to a $grand$ for a new tank.
ShenandoahHarley offered to sell me a chrome master cylinder cover a few months after I got my bike from them (new). The paint blistered and peeled the size of a quarter.
The nice folks at Groves in Winchester ordered a new one at my request, and when it came in, they refused to charge me for it.
Frankly, I think the folks at HD would be especially concerned over a bad paint job. I think Harley really prides themselves on the quality paint jobs on their motorcycles.

I am going to take it to Whitts and let them take a look at it. Patriot tried blaming me when they called me saying that it was my fault because I took the tank off. If it was painted correctly then at most I could cause is scratches. This crap is bubbling up and you can make it flake off with your fingernail.
