my dad and i did it, i bought a used 2006 dyna complete wheel for 80.00 at the swap meet, tore it down ordered 21" spokes and wheel, laced it to the original hub, paid 100.00 for rim and about 35.00 for spokes, had a friend true wheel gave him a 20.00 and a twelve pack, i think it corners easier not as sluggish, my opinion
i believe people are starting to sell them now when i did mine no one had them for a mid glide front end (hub is wider) than sporty and narrower than a wideglide
But where could i buy the complete street bob wheel with hub? Only in dealer shop? Or there are some ebay place? Because I'velooked forbut I don't see 19" or 21" wheels in ebay for street bob.
a 60 or 80 spoker is gonna be a custom job. HD's are 40's. Ive got a 21"x3.5" (but im doing WG conversion on my bob) being built by BlackBike Wheels but there are other custom guys. Who could do it. If you want a part# for OEM Bob 19" front wheel i'll find it for you. But there are no OEM 21" HD wheels that will fit a mid glide front end.
As long as you get a narrow hub, and the axle diameter is the same it will work.....just have to fit the spacers in correctly. Don't get radial laced wheels...they tend to get loose easily. eBay is the place to go. Hawg Halters also sells adapter kits for just about every setup you can think of. That's how I got a Narrow hub setup to work with my 41mm wideglide front-end.
IMHO, stay with the 40 spoke, and lace up a new rim to your existing hub, save yourself alot of headaches. Don't forget you will need a rim strip and tube to go with the new tire.[&:]
Actually alot of Bob owners are now lacing 16" rims to their front hub to go with a fat front tire.[&:]
