hey guys i got a 2002superglide i had it for 2 years. i bought it with 2400 miles on it. i had to replace the stater, fix the front forks because they were to soft.the trans seal behind the innerprimarycover becase it leaks.the starter is going bad it makes aloud skreek noise.all these things needed replaced and it was not cheap. i have 10,000 miles now. i was thinking of selling it. but i have 1000 dollars of chome vance and hines pipes on it. if i get another bikei willhave to start over again. and it will cost alot more.help me out guys, give me ideal

Wow that's a lot of things going bad with low miles! Sounds like the bike was rode hard and put away wet before you got it! I'd say if you've already done the repairs hang on to it, because you're right, it will cost a lot more to start over!

Perhaps they didn't heed the break-in instructions and decided to dump it? Wow... hate to hear that brother. That's one reason why I decided to buy new and pay for the setup taxes, etc. It cost a bit more, but I know where the bike has been, etc.
Your best bet is to keep it, fix it up, RIDE IT and don't look back.

Damn dude that bites..I also bought a used SG with 2k miles on it but the guy showed me all the recpt for service work. And after taking one look at him (I know shouldn't judge folks, but it is a skill I have developed over the years due to my work) I KNEW this scoot was a cream puff. I hate it for ya but unless you buy a new one this time you might go down that same road. Keep it, bikes are like good bourbon, they get better with age..good luck

td, i also have an 02 carb superglide, had a shift shaft seal start leaking around 7k miles (that looks like a inner pri. seal or output shaft), stator at 11k miles and i have caught my voltage regulator going out early a couple of times. after i finally got her broke in she's been just fine. maybe mine was built on monday a.m. or friday p.m. who knows. i know i can say i have a yorkie and proud of her. (30k on her now with no problems)
