Default Block size for under Dyna Frame - ATV Lift

Doe anyone have an ATV/Cycle lift that they use to lift their Dyna? Latus HD sells one but states a block must be used under Dynas to keep level due to frame shape.

Wonder if anyone knows the size of the block needed....

Be easy to go down to home depot and have one cut...

I think you need 3 blocks because the frame is lower at one corner. HD makes a set.

Scraps of a 1 X 4work well, and yes you will need three of them.

HD sells a kit for around $21.95. Easy on and off.

I just ripped a 2X4. It works ok, the HD kit works the best and as already stated, it's only around $20.

OK... I don't want to sound like a complete tool, but can you provide me (us) with a step-by-step on how to properly setup and lift a FDX with the craftsman jack? I have the red and black craftsman bike jack and haven't figured out the sweet-spot for placement and lift of the bike. I'd like to lift and strap the bike in the corner of my garage over the winter... if I can manage to figure the damn thing out <grin>.

Best.

Basically you'll have to stand the bike slighly upright but leave the kickstand down. Roll the jack into position. Position your blocks or your pieces of wood so as not to jack it up under the engine or trans but on the frame. If you rip a few 1x3's about 1.5 - 2 inches wide it'll fit just right.

I just slide a piece of 2x4 under the primary and ALWAYS toss on a strap! I had a chopper i ws building in HS fall on a girl when she moved the bars... the girls was fine... but the bike was all sorts of screwed up! here is a pic of my bike up now as i do the sliders

I have these too. Best 20 bucks I spent. They snap right onto the frame.
Instructions are included with the kit.
Get the bike somwhat level upright using a one inch block or something under the jiffy stand. It makes the jack go under a little easier when the bike is level. Position the jack at the blocks and jack it up. It's a little scary at first, but once you do it, it's a piece of cake.
When the bike is at the hieght you want, strap it down. It may seem like it's not going any were, but strap it any way.
