help me out ...you said "wondering if maybe I should have gone with the smaller baffles"
all I know is I gotta make my new FB sound louder (don't wanna wake the dead, just want a respectful H-D sound)...also want to maintain the same stock exhaust look if poss.
thx
what I meant was wanting to maintain the 1-2-1 tommy gun look on my FB
I'm a fan of loud pipes mdog, had 'em before.
....just don't want the dam neighbors complaining (not that I really g.a.s.)

Well, I installed Rush Slashdowns w/2" baffles today. The idle sounds outstanding. These ****'s are LOUD!!! Seriously, I am not sure that I can stand the sound while riding. Maybe I will get used to them. I am wondering if maybe I should have gone with the smaller baffles but I like the idle sound so much I hope I can get used to the very loud sound while riding. I can hear them pounding on my ears and I wear a 3/4 helmet. I'll update in a few days if I'm going to be able to stand it or not. Did I say the sound at idle is OUTSTANDING.

I don't know sheet from shinola re: 2", 1.75 or 1.5 baffles.
do you mean < 2" baffles = lower sound?

btw...I checked out the Rush site to hear the baffle sounds but they kinda sounded the same to me
thx
I've had 2 sets of slipons now. I can tell you that, when you take off the stock mufflers and put most anything else, it's going to sound especially loud to you. When I put my SEII's on I remember thinking, wow, these are perfect, wouldn't want any louder, and I'll never need or want anything else. Then you get used to them quickly and when you get around other bikes with loud pipes, you realize that what you have really isn't all that loud relatively speaking. Rush does make some nice sounding mufflers. That's what I went to buy but ended up with the SEII's because I'm an impatient douche and they didn't have the Rush in stock for my model. I just recently changed to V&H's straightshots and, so far, am still in the wow, these are perfect stage. But, I'm sure I'll be humbled again when I get around bikes with straight pipes. Eventually I want some V&H Big Radius pipes but my kids also expect Christmas presents so they'll have to wait (the pipes I mean lol). Right now, I'm happy with what I have. Last 2 times I rode with them, I was with my buddy who has Rush on his Heritage and he removed his baffles completely after hearing mine just to keep up with me in the volume department. I'm not sure that's a smart thing to do from a tuning perspective though since he's also running a stage 1 a/c and hasn't had a remap and doesn't have a tuner yet.

tbone, I have Rush on my SB and you will get use to the sound. I love mine. It helps mess with cagers at lights especially if thye are on a phone. I take the oppertunity to clear out my ejectors when I sit at lights next to them.
