Default Lookin' for some constructive comments on the Fat Bob

Love my Sportster (2005 XL1200C) but she's too small for comfortable 2 up riding. When I bought the wife didn't want to have anything to do with it. Now she's warmed up to ridin' on the back & no, it will be quite awhile before she would own her own bike. I can't own 2 bikes or I'd buy a used geezer glide for haulin' the old lady.

I was thinkin' about a V-Rod, but saw the Fat Bob and it is way cool. Priced nice too.

The other choice is the "other American" motorcycle, Victory and the the Kingpin 8-ball. Not a bad bike, rides geat, definitely can support 2 up & the 8-ball is about $14k.

So here's what I am askin' - comparing theFat Bob to the Kingpin, what do you think about these bikes? Which way would you go?

Considering this is a Harley forum(and I own a Harley), I'll try to be non-biased. IIRC, the Kingpin is a little less $$. And probably has some nice add-ons, compared to the stock Bob. But it's not a Harley. I have heard only good things, no bad, about the Victory line. YMMV...

FB is a little over $15k, Kingpin around $14k. Close.

I appreciate the comment.

Dont be afraid of the New FAT BOB. Some people say dont by a first year model but, I love it so far. Cant find a thing wrong with it and its a proven engine. The rear seat is hard for out of the box 2up riding , easy change out though. All the reviews are really good that I have seen about the fat bob. I dont know much about the Kingpin. You should be able to get a side by side comparision , at least spec wise online at www.powersportnetwork.com. I dont think any one here can give you any real input on the Kingpin only the Harley's we own. Good luck. 8)

I went from 1200N, traded it in on the Fat Bob... Big enough for hualin' the wife, small enough for solo baby!

Coming from a Sportster, it'll be more room. I like the solo look so I've considered the "Sundowner" solo seat with its' optional passenger seat when she wants to ride. Yeah, I have a two-up bike also but the FatBob is the most fun.

I've owned 2 dyna's ( FXDX , FXDWG3) and we've have a 1200c , I really like the Fat Bob and if I was into another Dyna it would be a very strong choice.

Victory builds a decent bike , but it isn't a Harley

I have an 07 Street Bob and get to ride my fathers 07 Victory Vegas on occasion. The victory has great power, even better brakes, and.....has controls like a jap bike, everything is metric on it, the amount of accessories wont even come close to Harley, and the accessories that are out there are more expensive( ive helped dad pick his accessories out) andthe warranty is 1yr compared to Harley 2yr. I could keep going.... Anyway, whatever Harley you get, just make sure its a Harley. Besides, if you ever decide to resale, your better off value wise going Harley
