Thanks, not sure I like them, but they do make the bike a bit more unique.
But it does cut down on the shiny look.

I'm about ready to eliminate the wings and get the front TS in tight and in line with the lower tree. Will post pics.

If your running a Open K & N Air filter and traveling, and concerned about running into rain.... Go to your Local Commercial Lawn Mower shop and get a 19 Hp Kawasaki foam air filter Band... There Oiled andfairly water proof for a quite a while... Best part is they will usually give them to ya.. They rollup to the size of a non filtered Camel Cig and in a plastic baggie ( helps from getting the oil on your drawers)...

Someone did this on another post, but i was unable to find it.

I got real tired of that ugly football and just couldn't find a replacement for the AC cover that i liked anywhere. Head down to your local Dollar General store and pick up a 2 quart saucepan for 6 bucks.

Cut the top rim of the saucepan at about 2 3/4 inches from the bottom. at the top of the ring, in the pic below, you'll see where the handle was on the pan. i used a dremmel to cut all the way around the pan.

Then sand the entire thing to rough up the cover so your chosen color of paint will stick.

I cut an indention in the bottom to allow more air in to the AC, but the 2 3/4 inch height will give about a half inch of open space all the way around for air to get to the cleaner. BTW, this is after the Stage 1 was done, so it's not the stock AC. Then just paint and drill a hole in the middle. Bolt right on with the existing bolt and you're good to go.

With the paint, i think it came to 8 bucks.
The saucepan aircleaner cover was my invention. Check my sig pic or click on the link to my gallery.

Shoptroll,
Was that made from a SS or aluminum pan? SS is usually fairly thin and hard to work with in the average basement or garage work shop.
But if you could find an appropriately sizedaluminum pot it would be a bit easier tocut, drill, and shine up with commontools.

troll, with all due respect,

we've been doing this here in Texas for 40 years that I can remember.

Don't know who invented it.

Still doin em, when appropriate.

Did one three weeks ago on a 1954 HD KH Racer.

They look and work good.
