just finished another mod( the only one i could do while waiting for parts).leather wrapped the shifter linkage.goes with the handle grip post earlier in this thread.(I'll get those pix back as soon as i get it back together)
I'm also gona do the forks between the triple tree's.
did a double layer so i could tie the two ends together. had to splice the bottom layer together a couple of times with electrical tape cuz it would have to be too long otherwise. the top layer and last 2 inches of bottom are all one piece about 12 ft.
also shows my newly powder coated forward's with "back to stock" pegs.

Nice touch XK.

Like the leather.

Dumdass question I know but if the leather retains water
and there are any scratches on the surface will it rust up ??&nbsp\\;
Good question TAR.

I would be more concerned with shrinkage.

I think a good soaking with Neats Foot Compound would prevent that though.

she's kind of a rock hound and likes to do some cabbing which is why she was interested
and since we are showing here's some of her work.

Good looking work there Mrs. XK.

What do you mean by cabbing??

mud
i asked her to define because i couldn't and she said 'cabbing is thecutting, shaping and polishing of precious and semi precious stones with diamond abrasives'. The result is a gemstone with a rounded top that isset in jewelry and its called a cabochon. and 'thanks for the compliment.' she also does the wire wrapping for pendants and some chain mail.

Ain't that the truth Dog.

I'm working on an index to edit into posting #1 page 1.
Didn't realize this would generate so many
mods and variations of mods.

ok here's what happens when it's cold out... and the garage is full of smoke[cough].... and youre staring the bike down...and you get tired of things easily.. so you take a look in the "unfinished projects area"[read junk pile] and get a flicker of inspiration....

parts list*

*1-headlight trim ring[outer]--- free from a guy @ the local indy...powdercoated myself
*1-bug-eye headlight trim-----swap meet special maybe $6-$8---[seen 'em in j&p for like $13.99]-also powdercoated by me
*2- pieces of window screen 6" dia.---free as long as wifey dont catch ya!
*1-piece 1/8" square chicken wire 6" dia---$1 per foot
*1 piece expanded metal 6" dia.---layin around the shop....previous racking material
*1-piece of 3/4" thick foam[black or grey]... packing material recieved from ebay transaction

so far... i'm in for about $10...price to re-create... still less than $20

[IMG]local://upfiles/19220/AC0486CD5A9F42D3AB388CD2C323762F.jpg[/IMG]

cut your screens.. sandwich them into the bug-eye...starting w/ the window screens and ending w/ the expanded metal [to hold everything in securely]

now take that foam that you cut into a circle [6" dia.more or less]
and plug the mounting screw area of the filter...

[IMG]local://upfiles/19220/4BFF8D99FA6C4BEBA9C1C59AF7D813E0.jpg[/IMG]

slip on the outer trim ring.. then the inner...tighten the screw at the bottom... bada-bing!
