Alternator Output
Can anyone tell me what the charging output is for a 2008 Dyna? I have a 2008 Street Bob and am looking to get some heated clothing but am not sure of how much I can put on. If anyone knows the total operating load on a stock bike, that would be helpful too.

When the alternator imploded on my 06, I replaced the rotor and stator with 07 parts. If I remember correctlt the old one (06) was 28 amps, and the new one (07 and later) is 40 amps. Since the factory gives us a 12 volt accessory plug under the seat, I dont think you will hae a problem running your gear. Theres still plenty of older gm and ford cars running around with 40 amp charging systems.

Should be no problem for you. I run a cigarette lighter, HD heated grips, warm gear heated glove liners, and a warm and safe heated jacket liner with absolutely no problems.
Can't remember/locate alt specs right off, but the 06 amp output is either 28 or 32 amps. Don't know the 08 specs.
