In the parts manual there are different fender braces for the wide glide. I think the braces on my WG are about 3 inches longer to accomodate the length of the bob tail fender. I also wonder about the width of the rear fender.
I'm interested to see if I can swap the fenders around without much drama. I still have base and clear coat from the repaint I just did, and I'm an expert now [sm=smiley20.gif] at rear wheel and fender removal/install since the repaint.
i checked the catalog.i couldn't find a specific fender changethat u want to do,but i did find out that in order to change to my style fender u would need new fender struts.u were right they are different.also needed is tail light and lic plate bracket, wich i'm sure you know. now its 320 to change to a bob tail so i would think its close to go the other way.u should talk to ur local stealer.sorry i couldn't help out more.
maybe u should do a forum search to see who has done this.good luck.jay.

Thanks, Jay. I appreciate the constructive input. I thought as much from looking at the 04 Dyna parts catalog/breakdown.
No stealer on the island. Closest is in on Guam.
Bottom line is I really like the line created by that fender on your bike, bro. I'm gonna run this to ground and see if I can do the mod without too much drama. If it's only a matter of changing struts, rewiring tialight, I'm up for that. I can get that fender for $120 bare and still have paints to match my tank/front fender. If I decide to change it out I'll post pics when its done.
