Does anybody know why on the thunderheader the pipes wrap in front of the cam cover?However, on the Softail it splits the cam cover. Any pictures of a Thunderheader on a FXDL?

I'm not sure about the Soft tails but I was told that they changed the routing of the head pipes a while back to get them closer to equal length which is important for tuning.Maybe it evens out the back pressure per cylinder?.Here's a picture of one on a blacked out Bobber I know not exactly what your looking for but I'm real happy with it.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I figure it's better than starting a clone of this one.
How difficult would it be to do something like fj4069 did, either by routing the front pipe back and over the cam cover or simply by running the rear pipe behind the cam cover to begin with (a more desirable look, IMO)? If I go with Thunderheader it's something I'd be interested in doing, as long as it caused no ill effects.
Tuning is more important to me of course, but I do think the softail thunderheader variant looks better.

Must be related to the mid control location. \\; All I know is that when it comes to terrorizing da hood with exhaust noise its rules!
