mark get a new dash and ill make the sub plate and cut the hole for you bro....i dont mean disrespect or anything but you cant be rolling around with your dash like that....i got the perfect grommet too so it will look nice and clean bro
yo what the perfect grommet it i will be doing this soon and i will need a gromet to do this. is the eastern switch the ones everyone is using? and if so you have to have a spacer on the mounting plate to get it to the right heigth?
The orientation of the bolts allows you to adjust the height of the switch using the nuts. Once you determine final height, superglue all the nuts to keep from vibrating loose. Use C sprinclips on the the top of the bolt and cut off any excess bolt with a Dremel.
Almost done with mine. I found a place to buy a rubber grommet. I think it will work great and give it a great finished loook. When I get it in I will take some pics and post them. I will pass along the website and the item number. It was under $10 I believe with shipping. Should be Saturday sometime. Can't wait to fire her up.
Hey all I just did that mod, it was simple but tedious getting the connectors in the neck out. I found a simple way to drill out the hole if you dont have a press and that is get yourself a 2x4 and place the console flat on it get 2 wood screws and drill them in to the two mounting holes on the the console int the wood, not to tight just snug to keep it from moving then I just held the other end and Bam your done, it doesnt move much. I also found a grommet, its actually a radiator hose reducer, comes in diffrent sizes, and they do have the two inch. i got mine at NAPA for under $10.00 and you just ahve to trim it up to size, i used a dremel on the console enlargeing the hole a little at a time just barely squeezeing the grommet and switch in to the hole. It a bit tight turn the switch on /off but after time it will break in. I will get some picks up this weekend. Enjoy
