I've got Ø1", 16" apes & have the polyuerethane riser bushings. I know some guys have used the solid bushings, is there any noticeable improvement or benefit to the solids over the polys? Just wondering.
I'd say go with the solid due to flex. My brother has18" apes on a WG and last summer one of the riser bolts that comes up thru thetree broke while he was moving the bike around in the garage. After examining the bolt, it was obviously that it had flexed so many times that it just got weak and snapped.Coulda ended up ugly if it wouldahappened at 70mph!
I aint had a problem with mine. some people say the vibration would be an issue, but the length of the apes takes care of most of it. I installed some heavier rear-view mirrors on mine (i know sounds dumb- but bar end weights are what they use to quell vibration on sportbikes- so i gave it a try) and the tops of the bars are almost perfectly still (about like stock bars and riser bushings) the only thing that vibrates bad on mine is the clutch lever (worn bushing).
