My friend has a 2005 Dyna, but he doesn't know which one or what it has. Can someone please post the original owners manual so we can look at his vin number and find out what this bike has. He is having issues, but most importantly we need to find out what dyna model he really has.
We are basically at a loss as to why it is backfiring and not idling (stalls). The bike from what I can tell has VH pips straight without baffles and a KN A/C.
That's in the mapping and SERT, PCIII, and/or FuelPak. He needs to pin the person he bought it from against a wall by his ******* (or to be PC, Ovaries too)! The 5th and 6th Digit of the VIN are the model numbers,GA - GH are Dyna Models. You can go to http://www.harley-performance.com/harley-vin.htmland scroll down and it can show you the specific code.

Thank you all for your help.
DWGMan (or anyone), what would you recommend we do now to take care of the SERT, PCIII, and/or FuelPak issue? We are not sure if it has any of these (SERT, PCIII, and/or FuelPak) and we are not very experienced when it comes to the lingo. We are pretty new to this.
Local Indy or dealer would probably look at it and tell you for free, or if you can take a few pictures of what you see under the seat, etc. Someone can probably help ya here.
Sounds like your friend has a carbed Wide Glide. Rejoice if this is the case (a carbed bike), any fixes are cheap. If he doesn't have any baffles I would suggest he contact V&H & get some for the pipes he has. They may quiet the pipes down a bit, but they will add needed back pressure to help them perform better. If it istruly have a carbed bike it is fairly easy to re-jet the carb & get it running good.

It is a carbed bike. So how does one go about rejetting the carb?
