I have SE IIs and there is a rivet that holds the baffles in. If yours have them, maybe you could drill the rivet out and slip the baffles out? I'm not sure what they would sound like with no baffles.
yes they do have a tourque head bolt holding them in.
next question.... how about the mapping of the computer? if I take out the baffles, how will it effect the fuel / air mixture and the performance of my bike?
could I modify the baffle a bit for a little bit more rumble?

Stell, it's hard to say exactly. Anytime you modify or remove a baffle you are affecting air flow. Depending on the structure of the baffle, you might be able to just modify it. I have heard of people with the SE II's pounding the flap inside the baffle out straighter to get a little more sound. I'm not familiar enough with the SE baffles to tell you what you might could do with those...
sure you can! I did mine on my SEII... just bend down the flap... see the cheap mods forum for pictures I put them up in there and do not have them on this PC
I have had them apart and there is no flap to bend down on the SEI slip ons.
that cheap mod post was the reason I tore them apart.
good input guys... keep um' coming! I just want my bike to be louder.
Stell, my honest opinion - do it right and get some different slipons. You can often find them for sale here in the classifieds, online at ebay, or even in the stores sometimes at decent prices. I got my Straightshots for 50% off in a dealer's store - $135. If you get into stage 1 territory and need to map your ECM (assuming you are EFI), you won't have anything specific to map to with a bastardized baffle.
