Hello all!I just wanted to relay some information! I was at Zylstra H-D in St. Charles, IL. last night. They areselling off a ton of "New Old Stock" items there! They had a table full of H-D factory shop manuals there also! I picked up one for my DYNA! I just thought I would relay this to my friends here at theHDForums! Joe.
Zylstra used to be in Elgin IL... i went to them all the time... they where then bought out and moved to St Charles and formed this HUGE dealership... SUCKS... they fired all the cool mechanics that knew you by name the sales floor is like a meat market now and unless you are 50+ in age or wave around money they will not even adress you (no offense if you are 50+ that was not my intent) i like the smaller dealership setting i would recomend City LImits HD they are amazing! the service guys really are down to earth the parts dept really takes care of you... i walk in and get a "hey Joe, how is the bob running?" now that is what Harley is supposed to be like!!!
FXDJOE and KEN... where you from? i live in schaumburg IL and ride with a bunch of guys in st charles area... we are always out riding! if you are intrested in getting together for a ride let me know! just to let you know... i ride with metric, bmw, choppers, rice, and a few girls that ride... so if you do not get along with any of that we do a harley run about 2xs a week (when it gets a bit warmer)
Hey Joe,I live in Arlington Heights. No worries on the style of bike you ride or what your friends bikes are!Anyone who has a passion for themotorcycle is "OK" by me!I have just been a H-D guy most of my life! I started out witha AMF Sportster a long time ago! Most of the people I know do-not ownH-D's!But I think they all would like to!I do agree on the customer service at Zylstra, itis not the best!I purchased my H-D up in McHenry, they are normal people there!Hey, by the way Joe. I sent you a PM asking about the shop you were talking about in another post! Well, have a great weekend all!Joe.
I will have to say, I have a bit of a weakness for H-D dealers! I tend to stop by the local Northern IL./Southern WI. dealers throughout the year (sometimes more than once), so I tend to find odd deals on parts at any moment?
If you are In the Southwest burbs of the city or outlying area's try ChiTown Harley.
Top notch folks! Doesn't matter what age you are. I'm 43 but look like 23, Heck I could even work as a Nark in High school !
They have Always treated me right in all departments. They know I'm a Newb but still are very cool there.
Sales team is great. Bill or Scott have there ***** wired tight and will treat you right with no attitude.
Parts fellas are all former Mechanics and have a lot of attention to detail. Service is friendly and freely offer up advice if you should need it.
The Motor clothes Girls a cute but a bit young. Don't make the mistake like i did and ask one of themout ( A compliment so I thought)
Damm they all turned cold as ICE after that. LOL!!! Whats a single guy to do... anyhow that's my only negetive experience there. Otherwise it is a real down to earth full service dealership.
