I have abuddy here at work that isa major sh*t talker. He has an 05 Lowrider with the 95" Screamin Eagle Big Bore Kit. He claims he walks all over the new 96" bikes.
My question is how does a new 96" with stage one stand up to the 95" big bore. Just curious. Seems they should be close unless he has some radical cams and higher compression?
Any big-bore kit is pretty much a waste if all you do is stick the kit on... if that's all your bud did, then a 96 will outperform it... but that would be a waste of time and money. Not too many people make that kind of investment without doing a real build, pistons, cams, pushrods, increasing the compression ratio, e&. I've seen 95" putting out 120+hp/tq.
This guy has never turned a wrench in his life. Pays for all his work. As far as I know he just did the standard big bore kit through the dealer. He just bugs me cuz everything he has is better than everyone elses and he does not even do any of his own work. Only knows what his stealer tells him.
I would love nothing better to be able to hang withor pull him when we all go riding. Gotto love peeps like this!
Well, if he was really dumb enought just to bump the engine up for the higher displacement numbers... he wasted allot of money on not much gain.... and the 96 will take it. I can't imagine a dealer not trying to upsell him on a whole package though...
I mean, maybe he just wanted to say he had 95 inches...
Even without much work his bike WILL walk a 96 if say both are say equal Dynas..Softies etc...(AND equal rider weights / experience etc..) but not by much.. due to the fact that the new 96s' are a total package with con rods cams etc.. included.. the built 88/95 inchers have the old 88 rods.. but bigger pistons / jugs.. that difference (skipping all of the techno mumbo jumbo) is enough... but like the Monk said it would be pointless to simply slap on the pistons and jugs and nothin else..
Maybe he does want to say that he has1550 C.C.s' ... but he must be lacking in another area though.. (I am sure you can guess which one..) and he is possibly making up for his deficency in the realm of Cubic Centimeters...
Either way "The my gun is bigger than yours" analogy is just goofy..
Heck if you want and your bike is a 96 and broke in well.. tell him to bring his 95 and take him out and tell him to put his money where his mouth is..
Maby the dealer did do just the bigbore on it. They were running a special in IA where you get the 103 kit installed on your bike for free with new purchase a month after I bought mine. Or 995.00 installed on 07's. They tried selling me on that, but the 31 cent stamp wasnt quite enough. If it were me i'd say Im glad your happy with it, but dollor for dollor evryone knows the best gains are in the heads and cams. Next to stage one I guess, but he has to have already done that right. Leave him with something to think about. I guy will stop braggin about a stupid move as soon as he knows evryone but him knew it was a stupid move. Cant run a marathon if ya cant breath, I dont care who ya are. That should do it. As far as proveing it to him, I dont ride with guys I dont like.
Seems there are allot of those guys that cretique everyones bike and have the best themselves. I bought the bike to enjoy to my liking and not try tohave some kind of braggin rights about how bad *** my bike is.
I was just curious as to the differences between the two, after listening to him talk all the time. I dont even enteratain his slams. Just play dumb and think in my mind what a dick!!
So the 96" is acheived by the stroke, where as the 95" is done by bore?

... He just bugs me cuz everything he has is better than everyone elses ...
From the sound of it there's something that bugs him a lot more or he wouldn't show off like that - classic inferiority complex, and quite funny, too. Which brings me to the next - and even funnier - point ... he bought a Harley ... to show off what a powerful bike he has? LOL!
Tell him the German guy on the Harley forum said he bought the wrong kind of ***** prosthetic ... Harleys are for showing off style, and 'busas are for showing off power. The fudgepickle.
