Wow Jimmy... can I pay you for that lesson?

How bout making them crystal clear?
I'm no photographer, but you can't go wrong by taking pics outside with natural lighting AND taking them at the highest resolution possible on your digital camera. The pictures are huge when you view them on your PC, so if you need them smaller, use a photo editing program to shrink them down. But outside lighting and high resolution work well for me.

great tips above, here are a few I suggest...

1. what is great about a camera is that you can shoot from anywhere, play with different angles, positions, and crops.
place the camera in a different position other then eye level, always good to give a view nobody has seen... see how powerful your bike looks when you shoot a photo with the camera near your feet.

2. lighting will make or break the shot, 12pm is the worst time for a photo. also, don't shoot into the sun.

3. it takes a lot of shots to get a great one, so don't hold back try a few things. film is cheap, and a digital camera gives you tons of options.

4. have fun with cropping. some times less is more.

5. background is just as important as the subject, so make sure everything in your view finder is important to the shot.

thats all I got for now
here are a few examples for you of shots that I have taken...

I know almost nothing about photography.

but someone told me many years ago,

to have the background as blank as possible
so that there is nothing else to look at except the bike (car, etc.)

I kinda like some distractions in the snapshot,

and, I find that cloudy daze and/or
just as the sun is setting,
is the best light for my camera.

# 1 has to be - get a decent camera,

2 - frame your shot

I can't take a decent shot without a tripod.

Telephoto lenses make for some real interesting results.
Even and/or especially close in.

its all about angles... choose to move your camera to angles you are uncomfortable in. get on your belly, climb a tree. force yourself to move your subject off center and foget the flat side shots take the pic from the front tire back tire bottom of the engine etc. it's digital waste a million batteries and look at your results... its not like film where you have to get them developed.....

Oh yeah choose to take your pics at dawn or dusk the lighting is soft and warm where mid day sucks the color out of everything. for that matter take pics after a good rain at dusk or dawn your colors will pop even if you use a point and shoot POS camera

Pick your subject point and shoot, walk around and keep on shooting.
The more you take the better your chances of getting a good one.
After all it is digital. You can take good pictures and or make good pics
in photoshop.
