Now I've got a silly question kind of concerning lilrooster's not wanting to solder.
I also relocated front signals with on the first week I had the bike to the HD Fugly ones.
At that time, I did cut the wires and just crimped the wires together with electrical connectors and taped them up.
Rode for a couple of weeks that way, till I found an alternative to the Fugly kit.
I then did a home made tank lift, and homemade relocation kit, then I finally soldered the wires.

This being said, I honestly and probably would never have soldered the wires toghther if it weren't for reading it in this forum.

What would, or could have happened if I would have just left them crimped and taped?

Just curious....
I haven't soldered anything in years, including anything on my bike. Use the proper connectors and crimp them properly and wrap them in the correct type of tape or use heat shrink covering and you are good to go.

Got the very same situation... what I've found is two choices.. remove tank and work wire harness area and connectors ... or...disconnect batt, and/or main fuse, cut wires, reroute wires under steering neck, solder back together andheat shrink tube them then tie wrap in place. Finallygot a heat gun for shrink tubing.. old method of using cig lighter seemed alittledangerous that close to the gas tank... LOL R/ Ed H

Take the tab off the bottomof the frame neck and pull the wires out. Then remove the pins fromthe connectors and route away. Then reinsert the pins back into the connectors and hook 'em back up. Done.
