I'm trying to decide on a nice set of detachable bags for my 06 Wide Glide. I'm not sure what I want. Any advice on different brands and range of prices would be helpful and where to get them from.Any input from any of you would be appreciated.
I went through this whole exercise a few months ago. I ended up with Boss Bags for Dyna. LINK
One difference I found from all of them, and it's hard to understand without seeing is the roller bearing. The backside of the bag is a hard plastic material. A roller bearing attaches to the bottom of the shock absorber. As you ride, and the shock compresses and expands, the bag rides along the roller bearing. The installation has the bag pressed against that roller bearing, so there is no rubbing or flapping around. It juse nicely rolls up and down the bearing.
The construction is nice and the installation was a breeze.
The Boss website says the 06 Wide Glides dont need to relocate turn signals, that was the worst part of putting them one.

I put the Boss Bags on my 06 and it took about an hour from start to finish. I looked at all the bags that I could find and liked Boss the best. It really is a top quality bag. Maybe just a little pricey, but well worth it.
As bags are a definite must, this thread was awesome but good lord I can't believe how much a decent quality bag is. \\; I'm curious if 'good quality' also means 100% water-proof.  \\; From all the links ya'll provided, I have quite a set of websites to really go through and find the ones I want/can afford. \\; I actually can't afford any of them. \\; Probably a 3rd or 4th job may be in order. \\; I'm already working on acquiring a 2nd to cover when my girlfriend goes on leave from work due to the fact my man-juice apparently did it's job (unintentially). \\; lol  \\; Anyway, thanks for the great info.
