2007 Low Rider. I'm 6'1" and 210lbs......mine fits me like a glove.
It's lowered an inch in the front and I went with standard forward control, and a Screamin Eagle seat.
(I was just a little too cramped for the mid controls).
I love it.
I'm 5'9" and love the low rider. Draw comments from the guysI ride with about how it looks like I'm stretched out and I just have a regular set of forward controls on it.
I'm 5'9" and the Low Rider fits me perfectly. Added the Mustang solo seat and some other goodies, heel rest pegs and the Lindby Bar (to which, I add highway pegs for road trips so I can move my feet around a lot - mid controls, foot rest atop the bar and the side mounted highway pegs).
you will not go wrong with the LowRider great ride,
If you are unsure about the mid controls try and negotiate in a set of quality foreward controls,
but leave the mid pegs to switch back and forth on and if you do not likethe mid pegs you can remove them easily just 4 bolts. The Dynas built after I believe 05 or 06 are a little more complicated to put foreward controlson (maybe something to check into) being tall is not my strong suit5'-2"
I had my lowrider for a month now and love it. Its an 08 model and after trying every bike at the dealer this was the one that i felt most comfortable with. Plust the color combo of orange and black just really stands out; its what caught my attention. However, it has been residing in the garage for the last 12 days since I tore a tendon in my left ankle(work related) so now Im left just staring at my bike. Sorry to get off-topic but you should def take a FXDL out for a spin and you decide if its the bike for you..
BlueT, I am about 6'2" and 225lbs. I still have the mid controls and use them when I am in traffic or in town. I also have highway pegs on the engine guard that I use when I am in the breeze and eating up the miles. With a well fitting seat and bar combination, there is no better riding bike than a Lowrider IMO. While mine does not compare directly to the ones you are looking at, Lowriders are so adjustable with seat, bar, and peg combinations that anyone can make one comfortable to them. Mine feels just as muchat home riding the twisties with my buddy on his V-Rod as she does eating up the miles for hours with the Baggers. Find one that feels "good" from the start, then tweek the seat, bars, and pegs till she fits you like a second skin. Good Luck!
I have an 07 fxdl and I'm 6' and replaced the stock seat with a sundowner which raised me up and moved me back a little. I still have the mids on mine but only use them when in the twisties otherwise I am on the highway pegs. From there I can shift and brake with my heals. I am in the process of converting mine to floorboards. My inseam is 32" and I find the mids have my knees up too high for long term comfort.
Currently there is a thread on foreward controls It is just as easy on the newer Dyna's as it was on my 05 for home install thus not going to the stealer. some good reading info! Good luck with your purchase.
