Pics of my homemade recessed backing plate.
It moves the air cleaner a little over an inch inward.
I was tired of my leg rubbing up against it when using the Lindby highway bars foot rests -
I still have mid controls.
Banged it out of thick gauge aluminum - then sanded and polished.
Went ahead and vented the breathers to a small air filter instead of routing in the a/c.
Works great - the inch helps a lot. Take care dd
Nice job beatin out that recessed plate. Looks reallyclean.
Hows about a picture of your breather routing technique??

Yes - That's a "poor man's" Digital Temp Gauge
8 bucks @ Ace Hardware. Just slide the probe in. I used welding wire between the push rod tubes to secure it - but it's not necessary. It works fine determining heat up and cool down cycles. May not equate to actual oil or other engine temps, but it's better than nothing. Takes 2 seconds to install / de-install.It does show how even the slightest breeze on the fins really sends the temps DOWN. So maybe MoCo knows what they're doing.
Made me think an oil cooler may not be a necessity.[/align] Here are some pics of the breather. I've already change it up to the smaller one. It's just 1/4" clear hose and brass fittings - 3/8"for the breather side. Advance Auto 10 buck filter. I kept it white and clear hose to see how much oil it puts out. Rsn: if not too much, I'll route it back through the motor like stock. Not sure I like it hanging down like that - but don't want to sacrifice performance.
