Default chrome switch covers

I bought some chrome switch covers and Im stuck on the throttle cables! How do I get them out of the old covers? It appears there is snap ring but I dont think my snap ring pliers are small enough to fit in there, am I on the right track or is there a trick Im not figuring out? appreciate anyones knowledge right now! thankyou,

Grab ahold of the elbow (where it goes into the housing) and pull they snap right out.

Yep. Just give them a good yank.

Check the tension on the throttle and idle cables also. There is a nut on the cable elbow. I believe you are supposed to loosen them anyway if you disconnect the cables. Anyway, they may have gotten loosened anyway. Tightening them back should help.
